Drappier
About the Brand

Drappier embodies natural authenticity, crafting Champagnes that reflect the purity of their terroir. Renowned for using the lowest sulphur content in Champagne production and a low-dosage philosophy, Drappier creates dry, aromatic, and elegant wines that stay true to their origins. Pinot Noir dominates the house's style, lending structure, richness, and a toasty complexity to its wines, ideal to match with a wider spectrum of food and beloved by sommeliers worldwide. The estate has now earned the "Carbon Neutral" accreditation, maintaining a focus on sustainability.

Winemaker Profile

In 1952, Andre and Micheline Drappier created the Drappier Carte d'Or vintage, known for its quince jelly notes, and introduced Pinot Meunier after the devastating 1957 frost. In 1968, Micheline proposed a 100% Pinot Noir Rose, which became the highly successful Drappier Rose de Saignee. Michel Drappier has managed vinification since 1979, while Andre, with 74 harvests of experience, oversees the 62-hectare estate. In 1988, the family acquired historic cellars from Napoleon III's era. The eighth generation, including Charline, Hugo, and Antoine, joined the family business in 2016.
